Properties:  raising the dead, levels of existence

Herblore:
Yew may be used in spells to raise, call and bind spirits of the dead.
It may also be used as an inhalant to cross boundaries of consciousness and existence.

Herbcraft:
A powder made from grinding the dried leaves of the yew was used as an abortificant.
The single seeds within the berries (the flesh of which is the only non-toxic part of the tree) are fast-acting cardiac depressant —causing gastrointestinal disorders, heart failure, convulsions and paralysis.
